Tommy and Willow, our team’s construction safety mascots, have been out and about visiting Yarm School — and the trip ties directly into a project we’re proud to be delivering close by.

Alongside our partners at Northern Safety Group, Tommy and Willow delivered an assembly to Year 1 and Year 2 classes on the risks and dangers of construction sites, and why children should always stay well away from them.

Construction sites are full of hazards that aren’t always obvious to young children: heavy machinery, uneven ground, materials in transit, and areas that can change day to day. Getting the safety message across early, in a way that’s engaging and age-appropriate, is one of the best ways to help keep children safe around sites in their community.

Tom Willougby are on site at Yarm School transforming a 20th-century detached home into a brand-new nursery. Once complete, the building will provide a wonderful new space for children aged 0 to 3 years old.
